Manuela Moldovan is forging new paths in the field of Expressionist art. She relies on multiple techniques, materials, shapes, and colors to create her impressive art pieces. The canvases often end up greatly textured and rich with artistic embellishments.

Manuela is a prolific mixed-media artist. She incorporates fabrics, lace, sand, cold or hot wax, barks, lichens, etc., in her artwork, increasing their depth and dimension. Her singular style is recognizable among all others, which makes her work even more spectacular.

Manuela was born in Romania, a beautiful and blessed country with fantastic scenery, and moved to Toronto, Canada, a new and wonderful land.
She has been trained and worked as a licensed pharmacist in both countries, and she decided to retire early in order to become a full-time artist.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
Manuela has been passionate about all aspects of art from a very young age, being dance, photography, theater, or painting.
She is a self-taught artist and enjoy challenges, loving to discover.
Over the years, her artwork became full of color, with high texture and depth, a true homage to life and love. The paintings depict her search for flourishing and prosperous life, dynamism and movement, inspiring the viewer.
In her works, she loves capturing the mystery of any corner of the planet or imagine a beautiful and vibrant world.
During the artistic years, she got influences from the Romanian excellent painters, her art teachers in school, also from her uncle Valer Suciu, painter and teacher back home and continuing in Canada with lessons from Ann Shier, encaustic artist and the stunning work of Vincent Van Gogh, Matisse, Gustav Klimt, Robert Kushner.
As well, she explores art galleries and visits museums from all over the world, on line and during her travels.
She is member of Markham artists Group, Artworks Oakville and associate member of Canadian Society of Artists.
